How to Design Car Air Pump PCBA Solution

29 Nov 2025 10:29:05 GMTTyson From www.hycxpcba.com

The principle of the car air pump solution is simple. It automatically detects tire pressure during use.

When the pressure is lower than the set value, the motor starts and pumps compressed air into the tire through the intake pipe.

When the air pump reaches the upper limit of the set tire pressure, the motor shuts off.

The car air pump consists of components such as a pressure sensor, ADC chip, and main control chip.

 The functional parameters of the car air pump solution are as follows:

The intelligent car air pump solution launched by hycxpcba used the SIC8833 microcontroller for the air pump.

It is an 8-bit RISC architecture high-performance microcontroller with an integrated 24-bit high-precision ADC and LCD/LED display module.

It also has an internal 8k*16-bit MTP program memory, which provides a significant advantage for accuracy display. The main functions are as follows:

1. Charging: TYPE-C charging port, input voltage 5V, red light on during charging, green light on when fully charged, with built-in charging management;

2. Resolution: 0.5 PSI; pressure measurement range 3-150 PSI; the minimum set pressure cannot be lower than 3 PSI.

3. Built-in charging management, the circuit board has overcharge, over-discharge, and overcurrent protection functions; also has over-temperature protection function.

Button function settings for the intelligent car air pump solution:

1. Five buttons: +, -, U, Mode, Power;

2. Power button: long press 3s to turn on/off; short press to start/stop inflation;

3. + / - Button: short press to set the pressure value, increasing or decreasing by 1 PSI; long press to increase or decrease the number quickly;

4. U Button: short press to switch units, long press for 2 seconds to turn on the light, and press again for 2 seconds to turn off the light;

5. Mode Button: there are 5 modes, short press to switch among the 5 modes;

A. Bicycle mode: 30-65 PSI, default 45 PSI;

B. Motorcycle mode: 1.8-3.0 BAR, default 2.4 BAR;

C. Car mode: 1.8-3.5 BAR, default 2.5 BAR;

D. Ball mode: 4-16 PSI, default 8 PSI;

E. User-defined mode (default on startup);

F. Battery indicator: when battery level is above 70%, green light is displayed; when battery level is 30-70%, orange light is on;

 when battery level is 10-30%, red light flashes; when battery level is below 10%, "LO" is displayed and the device shuts down.
